new cars are so low maintenance it's astonishing.. no zircs to grease, no oil needed in the filter, or the horn. Yeah, horns used to need oil! (see the 2000 mile section)
When people complain about how expensive their car is to maintain, just remind them of this 1930's Dodge maintenance schedule wherein you had to replace engine oil every 1,000 miles, transmission and rear axle fluid every 5,000 miles and let's not forget the need to lubricant your horn!

the seventies puked all over this Superbird... hood scoops from a Dart and sidepipes? Good lord! I bet they had a CB antenna on it too!
be a true friend, don't let your friend do drugs and put hood scoops on anything Road Runner derived. It's just not right. Super Birds, Road Runners, GTX, Belvedere, and Satellites... no adding hood scoops. It either has the 440 Six Pack lift off 1969 1/2 fiberglass A12 hood... or it was never meant to have fiberglass on the hood. Either it was blessed from the factory with the push button Air Grabber rising scoop from the carb, or it had a flat and lifeless hood. No mixing and matching!

When Acura got a GT3 Porsche back from the dealership while using it to help develop the NSX’s steering, they found a note under the hood... "Good luck Honda"
Per common practice, when Acura bought a 911 GT3 for its test fleet, it did so anonymously, but Porsche saw who it belonged to when the service center accessed the car’s data, according to Automotive News.
It was at this point that Porsche decided to have a little bit of fun with its counterparts at Acura. “Good luck Honda from Porsche. See you on the other side,” read a note left under the 911 GT3’s engine cover, according to the NSX’s dynamics project leader Nick Robinson.
The NSX team also benchmarked a McLaren 12C, and although McLaren never figured out that Acura owned the particular car, the dealer in charge of servicing raised an eyebrow. “[The McLaren dealer] wanted to know ‘Where did you go 205 mph? What track?’,”

I hope this is legit, and we truly have made it to the era of jetpacks!
This is a Martin Jetpack, and you can buy one!
The Martin Aircraft Company of Christchurch new Zealand has used the most advanced technology to produce an exceptional personal aircraft. We were promised flying cars, but really, this is better. You don't need a runway to land it.
It can be used to save lives, search and rescue in floods and fires, inspect mountain trails and remote climbing routes for lost mountain climbers, or get to the landing pad of your skyscraper office building... the Martin Jetpack seems ready to get you into Batman situations, and out of them.
The Martin Jetpack is unique in that it can be flown both manned, unmanned or as part of a “mule train” of Jetpacks and its fly by wire technology ensures that it is relatively easy to operate whether as a pilot or using remote control with some go pro's so you can fetch people off cliffs and mountains.
Its advanced ballistic parachute can open as low as six metres above the ground.

Gato Chiquinho, the best pal a biker could ask for
The 12-year-old wears a cool pair of shades as he zooms around on the bike and has been somewhat of a local celebrity in Rio de Janeiro.
His owner Alexandre Goulart posts hilarious videos on his YouTube channel of him and his 'gato' Chiquinho blissfully biking about.

Jeeps in the Philippines
When they realized there was a market for these Jeeps they repainted them and put them up for sale. Oddly the only “olive drab” paint they could find was leftover Japanese WW2 paint.
Back in WW2 era, the locals were stealing Jeeps, so the GI Joe solution was to drill the hood number into the rear fenders of the Jeeps. Then the locals started filling the holes and drilling new holes.
After that the GI’s started tipping their Jeeps up on their sides at night, because the Filipinos were too small to topple them back over.

the T Rex bike
A talented engineer and bicycle fabricator in Portland, Oregon has created a giant rideable Tyrannosaurus rex-shaped dinosaur bike, which he has named Sue.
The 90-pound art bike is about 12 feet long from head to tail, which is apparently the same size as a 12-year-old young adult T. rex. The head is a marionette that can be moved by the rider to mimic the movements of a living dinosaur (its jaw even opens and closes). The arms, which are attached to the pedals, are also movable.

superstition got the best of him, and it cost him in time and money
the fruit delivery company owner paid the equivalent of $100,000 for the license plate with 88888 because the Chinese pronunciation sounds similar to saying the words "getting rich" when pronouncing the number 8.
This truck owner installed the plates June 26th, and the very next day, was rewarded with 8 police stopping him throughout the day because they all believed he had fake illegal license plates.
So, that plan back fired. Each police stop took up about 1/2 hour, and instead of getting work done, and profitting for the day, he spent 4 hours being interrogated by police that didn't believe that he was really so lucky to get this license plate. They even checked his vin and engine serial number... not a good start to a lifetime with these plates.
This has many superstitious Chinese going out of their way to add to their possible good luck by shifting things numerically to get more 8s in a price, or starting at a time with 8s in the time.
For example, the 2008 Olympics in Beijing began at 8:08 on the 8th day of the 8th month.
