Chet Herbert's streamliner the "Beast IV" is undergoing restoration

The NHRA museum in Pomona, California has commissioned the restoration of the Beast IV Streamliner. Dan Webb of webbautomotiveart.com and his daughter Ashley Taulbert, (well known for the modern recreation of the "Golden Sub", the Remington Modified recreation, the So-Cal Streamliner, and the fully sculpted Wedge Roadster, just to name a few) will be tasked to recreate the Beast IV and are currently making progress.

The streamliner will then be unveiled after the restoration/rebuild at the NHRA Museum in January 2017 during the GNRS

I hope someone tells Rolls Royce prototype designers that tiny detail about streamlining the front tires... it changes the aero dymanics a lot when you turn them... aka the Stutz Blackhawk effect

Rolls Royce Motor Cars has unveiled a concept car that showcases what the firm thinks luxury vehicles might look like in 100 years' time. The "Vision Next 100" is a 5.9 metre-long zero-emission, self-driving car complete with an artificial intelligence virtual assistant and a silk sofa – but no steering wheel.

Keep in mind the following is a 360 degree video, pull it around

The Stutz effect I mentioned in the title? That's due to what they learned when land speed racing on Daytona Beach with the Stutz Blackhawk.

At 220, it went barrel rolling... you simply can't change the aero at that speed without disastrous effect

a Dodge Stratus engine from 90s, a DOHC, four-valve straight-four is powering this streamliner

the builder/racer/owner knows his stuff too... he's got 22 records already in land speed racing, and 3 were while he was in college. Now he's an engineer in the engine technology dept of Mopar, and the current record holder in his class (under 3 liters) at 291 mph

This straight four.. has 800 hp. Twin turbos, then a super charger. Damn.
